Si Tu Vois Ma Mere
Almost every night when the moon goes down
I am on my way to another town
And the echoes of the bandstand fade to gray
In the dim light of the bus
This old photograph of us
Reminds me that I must return again some day
I’ve been so long away
In the amber glow by the riverside
Where the whipporwill cries of foolish pride
My sweet mother waits for the ending of the day
The road sang my song
I’ve been chasing it for so long
And I’m still so far away
Will she still be there when I climb the garden stair?
I’ve been far too long away
